Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals, one of India’s largest corporate healthcare chains, is expanding into Kerala with plans to develop new medical facilities and acquire 3,000 beds over the next five years. KIMS already operates in five states, including Kerala, with more than 16 hospitals and over 5,000 beds.

The expansion in Kerala has already begun with the acquisition of Sreechand Hospital in Kannur and an O&M contract with Westfort Hospital in Thrissur, where further development is underway. In the next two years, KIMS plans to establish large health cities in Kochi and Kozhikode, each with 800 beds.

The group’s expansion blueprint includes establishing a fully equipped oncology and transplant centre in Kannur, as well as a 350-bed hospital in Thrissur dedicated to advanced transplant services. In the future, KIMS hopes to acquire hospitals in Calicut and Trivandrum. In the far future, it intends to explore the possibility of establishing one hospital in each district of Kerala
