Recently elected Rajya Sabha MP, Shri Ashok Gasti passes way on the 17th of September at 10.31 pm. His health had rapidly deteriorated after 2nd September when he was admitted to the hospital for COVID-19. He passed away due to COVID-19 pneumonia.
Shri Ghasti was elected to the Rajya Sabha on a BJP ticket.
The Prime Minister gave his condolences and said, “He was passionate about empowering the poor and marginalised sections of society. Anguished by his passing away. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.”
Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Vankaiah Naidu read an obituary in the house. The house was 30 minutes as a mark of respect to Shri Ghasti.
Shri Ashok Gasti was a first-time Rajya Sabha member from Karnataka.
