HCLFoundation, the CSR arm of HCLTech, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) to promote solar energy projects in rural Uttar Pradesh.
HCLFoundation will support UPNEDA in controlling 40 solar mini-grids in Uttar Pradesh. These grids help the government meet its objective of expanding renewable energy and improving electrification in underserved areas.
The partnership includes advisory services and long-term partnerships for project sustainability. The MoU is in line with the mission of Samuday, the HCL Foundation’s flagship program dedicated to empowering rural people through sustainable development initiatives.
Alok Varma, Project Director – Samuday & My Clean City, HCLFoundation, stated, “This partnership strengthens HCLFoundation’s dedication to promoting renewable energy and supporting rural communities with innovative solutions. Collaborating with UPNEDA, we intend to achieve lasting social and environmental benefits, aligning with our mission to build self-sufficient rural ecosystems”
