Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch a significantly upgraded version of its popular Interceptor 650 motorcycle, with the 2025 model recently spotted undergoing testing in India. While the bike’s overall look remains largely unchanged, several important enhancements aim to boost performance and functionality for riders.
A closer look shows that the headlight has been replaced by a sleek circular LED unit instead of the traditional halogen and that the tail light and turn indicators are also LED. The fuel filling cap on top of the tank has been updated, while the back fender appears to have been redesigned. The twin-dial configuration of the instrument panel has probably been replaced by a single-pod digital unit.
One of the most notable mechanical upgrades is the introduction of dual front disc brakes, now featuring axially mounted Bybre calipers. This upgrade, alongside a single rear disc, promises to deliver a marked improvement in braking performance, ensuring safer and more responsive stops.
Under the hood, the 2025 Interceptor 650 retains its well-loved 648cc parallel-twin engine, reminiscent of the Super Meteor 650. This means riders can expect a power output of approximately 47 hp and a peak torque of 53 Nm. The motorcycle continues to feature a smooth 6-speed gearbox, ensuring a comfortable and engaging ride.
