Kolkata remains on high alert as Cyclone Dana approaches the Odisha and West Bengal coasts. Although the cyclone is not expected to make landfall directly in the city, safety measures have been heightened to prepare for any potential impact. Kolkata Police, the River Traffic Unit, and the Disaster Management Group have taken precautionary actions, including halting ferry services and advising residents to avoid the ghats to prevent possible injuries.
