Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for a key transmission project. The project involves the establishment of an inter-state transmission system for the “Provision of Dynamic Reactive Compensation at Khavda Pooling Station 1 (KPS1) and Khavda Pooling Station 3 (KPS3)” on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
As per the letter of intent (LoI), received on September 23, 2024, POWERGRID will undertake the installation of STATCOMs at both KPS1 and KPS3, alongside associated bays extension work in the state of Gujarat. The successful acquisition of this project further strengthens POWERGRID’s position in the country’s power transmission infrastructure sector.
