As one of the entertaining games of the Premier League 2024/25 so far between Manchester City and Arsenal finished 2-2. Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta however feels the referee was very wrong in giving a red card to Leandro Trossard just before the half time. Trossard commited a foul and then kicked the ball away to delay the restart of the game and it didn’t even took seconds for the referee to show a red card to the winger. Despite the red card Arsenal managed to secure a point against City.
“I prefer not to comment. I’ve seen it. I am expecting now 100 Premier League games to be played 10 against 11.” Basically, Arteta’s comments was against this PL rule of giving a card to the player who has allegedly kicked the ball to delay the restart.
