Veteran Bollywood actress, Jaya Bachchan, who is currently serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha from the Samajwadi Party gave a speech in the Monsoon Session of the Parliament.
The speech addressed the current situation and controversy surrounding the film industry post the death of Actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the NCB enquiry into the matter. In her speech, Mrs Bachchan spoke on the necessity to protect the film industry and not tarnish the entire community due to a few bad apples.
She spoke about how the film industry steps up in support of the government during times of need and also brings in international recognition to the country.

Post this, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale told reporters that he supports Ravi Kishan Ji’s comments on the need to free the industry from drug consuming segments in order to save the industry.
