BMW Motorrad is preparing to launch a new electric scooter in the Indian market. It’s named the CE 02 and is already being produced at TVS Motor’s Hosur facility.
It is anticipated that the BMW CE 02 would cost more than ₹6 lakh in the Indian market on launch, given that the electric scooter is sold for around USD 7,599 (approximately ₹6.2 lakh) in the foreign market.
The BMW CE 02 has a basic construction and a simple look with minimal bodywork. It has LED lighting, a single flat seat and a battery and motor located right underneath. The electric scooter is powered by a 2 kWh battery and has a range of 45 km on one charge. Furthermore, a dual-battery option available globally has a range of more than 90 kilometres per charge and is removable. The CE 02 is said to have a top speed of 95 kmph.
The CE 02 is likely to have a variety of features, such as all-LED lighting, a reverse gear, keyless operation, USB charging and a 3.5-inch TFT screen in the instrument console. The CE 02 will include premium parts including USD front forks and adjustable rear shock absorbers despite its compact size. ABS is probably going to be installed. The scooter will feature 14-inch alloy wheels with 120/80 front and 150/70 rear tyres.
