Jefferies reports that the telecom sector’s revenue growth moderated to 7% year-on-year in Q1 FY25. Bharti Airtel and Jio saw their revenues increase by 9% and 10.5% YoY, respectively, during the same period, with both companies gaining market share—35 basis points for Bharti and 70 basis points for Jio.
In contrast, Vodafone Idea’s market share fell to an all-time low, losing ground in 16 out of 22 telecom circles. Jefferies anticipates that Bharti and Jio will continue to gain market share until Vodafone Idea completes its network investments.
Looking ahead, Jefferies expects the sector’s revenues to grow at a 15% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to reach $38 billion by FY26.
