Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Monday said that the party will support opposition candidate Manoj Kumar Jha for the post of Deuty Chairman in Rajya Sabha to be held today, according to reports from ANI.
Earlier reports suggested that welve opposition parties had confirmed their support for the candidature of Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Manoj Jha for the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman’s election and talks were in progress with leaders of Aam Aadmi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party to garner support for Jha. The move is seen as a symbolic foght against the NDA by the opposition.
“This election is not about individuals, but to send out a strong message to the ruling party that, please, start listening to the opposition,” Jha said while filing his nomination.
However, the chances for him to win is very less to almost nil with 95 votes, still a good 28 votes short from the winning mark.
