The Miami Dolphins’ preseason has been plagued by injuries, affecting key players and the overall offensive lineup.

While Jaylen Waddle’s injury has been the major headline, another significant issue has emerged with starting center Aaron Brewer. He recently left a training camp practice with a hand injury. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel has indicated that Brewer’s injury is classified as week-to-week. This situation is compounded by the fact that Miami’s best current option for filling in is to move their top guard, Liam Eichenberg, to the center position. Additionally, Isaiah Wynn is still on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, which further limits the team’s options.

The injury is particularly problematic because it’s to Brewer’s snapping hand. This could have a considerable impact on the timing and chemistry that the offensive line has developed during the offseason, as reported by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Brewer was a key offseason acquisition for the Dolphins, brought in to start after the departure of Connor Williams, who signed with another team. With backup options currently uncertain and other issues like Tagovailoa practicing without Odell Beckham Jr. and Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins may need to explore free agency or other solutions to bolster their offensive line and maintain their preseason preparations.
