Ray Chan, a renowned British art director and production designer, passed away on April 23, 2024, at the age of 56. Chan was born on December 1, 1967, in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England.
Chan had a long and distinguished career in film and television that started in the early 1990s. He is best known for his work on several major Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. His passing is a great loss to the entertainment industry. Chan died from a hemorrhagic stroke, which occurs when a blood vessel in the brain bursts and causes bleeding, disrupting normal blood flow and depriving parts of the brain of oxygen.
Ryan Reynolds, who starred in Deadpool & Wolverine, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, saying, “RIP Ray Chan. Words can’t fully express this loss. His incredible skill, creativity, and talent were as vital to Deadpool & Wolverine as the writers, director, and actors.”
Chan is survived by his wife, Lindsay Gibbon, who is an architect, and their two children, Caspar and Sebastian.
May he rest in peace.
