Connections is the newest puzzle game from the New York Times. The challenge is to categorize a list of 16 words into four secret groups by figuring out how they relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight, with varying levels of difficulty each day. Like Wordle, you can keep track of your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
How to Play NYT Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid with 16 words. Your goal is to group these words into four sets of four, based on how they are related. The connections might include themes like video game titles, book series, shades of red, or restaurant names.
Some words may seem like they fit into multiple groups, but there’s only one correct solution. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help identify the connections.
Each group is color-coded by difficulty:
- Yellow (easiest)
- Green
- Blue
- Purple (hardest)
To play, select four words and hit Submit. If you’re correct, those words will be removed from the grid and the theme will be revealed. If you’re wrong, it counts as a mistake, and you can only make four mistakes before the game ends.
