Shares of NLC India jumped in early trade on July 8 after the company secured its second commercial coal mine block at Machhakata, Odisha.
At 09:22 am, NLC India was trading at Rs 266.10, up Rs 4.55 or 1.74%, on the BSE.
The company announced in its exchange filing that it emerged as the successful bidder for the Machhakata (revised) coal mine in Angul district, Odisha, following the commercial coal block e-auction held on February 2, 2024, by the Ministry of Coal.
The Machhakata coal mine block has an estimated coal reserve of approximately 1,377 million tonnes, with a peak rated capacity of 30 million tonnes per annum.
By 9:41 am, shares were trading 2.27% higher at Rs 267.36 on the NSE.
