Earlier this week, Randall Cobb and his family experienced a terrifying ordeal when a fire broke out at their Nashville home. According to Cobb’s wife, Aidya, a Tesla charger in the garage ignited and the flames quickly spread throughout the house.
The Cobbs, along with their three sons, managed to escape the burning home unharmed. In a heroic move, Randall Cobb rushed back into the house to save the family’s dog, Louie, who also survived the incident. “We are lucky to be alive,” Aidya shared on her Instagram story.
The Cobbs expressed their gratitude to the Nashville Fire Department for their rapid response. “I can’t get the image of the brave firefighter getting into position out of my head,” Randall wrote. “He didn’t even have water to shoot yet. I truly thought the cars were going to explode and that we would lose him to this tragedy. He is a true hero.”
While the family escaped safely, they did so with “nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet,” according to Aidya. The family also shared videos of the extensive damage, including burned cars and bicycles.
NFL athletes and friends flooded Cobb’s Instagram post with messages of support, including former teammates Dak Prescott, Breece Hall, CJ Mosley, and Mason Crosby. Although Cobb played for the Jets during the 2023 NFL season, he is currently a free agent and his future plans remain uncertain.
For now, the Cobb family is focused on recovering from this traumatic event. “We are grateful for our incredible community in Nashville, and the support from our close friends that have given us a temporary roof over our heads and shoulders to lean on,” they wrote.
