Actor Raveena Tandon recently addressed a road rage incident in which she was accused of assault. The incident, which took place in Khar, Mumbai, involved a man claiming that Tandon’s driver hit his mother and that the actor assaulted the woman in a drunken state. The Mumbai Police, however, confirmed that Raveena’s car did not collide with anyone, and she was not intoxicated.

Raveena took to Instagram to thank her supporters and shared a valuable lesson she learned from the incident: the importance of having visual proof of one’s actions. She posted, “Thank you for the overwhelming love, belief and support! Moral of the story? Get dashcams and CCTVs now!”

A police official stated that CCTV footage from the Khar-based building showed women near Tandon’s car but confirmed that no collision occurred. The footage contradicted the claims made against the actor and her driver.

Raveena also commented on the broader implications of such incidents, highlighting the relentless public scrutiny faced by women achievers. She emphasized the unfairness of judging them solely based on their fame and called for a united stand against violence and hooliganism. “In a world where public scrutiny is relentless, it is essential to remember that women achievers are human too. Disparaging them solely for their fame is unfair and harmful. This increasing violence against women and children world over needs to be addressed urgently. It’s time we stand united against violence and hooliganism,” Raveena said.

The video of the incident showed Raveena getting out of her vehicle and speaking to a crowd, during which she was allegedly pushed and hit. In the video, she is heard pleading, “please don’t hit me.” The man in the video accused her driver of hitting his mother and claimed that Raveena assaulted the woman when she stepped out of the vehicle.

While no FIR was registered, a station diary entry was made at the Khar police station. Raveena’s posts suggest that this incident has prompted her to advocate for the use of dashcams and CCTV to provide visual evidence and protect oneself from false accusations.
