Bharatiya Janata Party’s Shankar Lalwani has created history as he won Indore Lok Sabha seat by the highest ever vote margin of over 10 lakh votes. Before this, the record was held by BJP’s CR Patil, who had won Gujarat’s Navsari seat by a record margin of nearly 6.9 lakh votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking of Indore Lok Sabha seat, NOTA has emerged as the second highest votes recipient at a record of 2.18 lakh votes.
Lalwani contested his Lok Sabha seat for General Elections 2024 from Indore and faced competition from Bahujan Samawadi Party’s Sanjay Solanki. Around 95.78% votes were drawn in favor of Lalwani.
