The club confirmed the signing of a contract with the Spanish tactician following the departure of David Moyes, who had guided the Hammers to a respectable 9th place finish in the recently concluded 2023/24 Premier League season.
Lopetegui, known for his tactial knowledge and managerial experience, brings a wealth of expertise to the London-based club. His previous time include managing top-tier teams such as Real Madrid and Sevilla, as well as the Spanish national team. This move comes a period of significant changes across many clubs in the Premier League, with player transfers and managerial appointments is ongoing on a large scale.
Under Moyes, West Ham displayed a consistent performance, securing mid-table stability. However, the club’s ambition for higher position and trophies and more competitive European engagements has led them to pursue Lopetegui.
