At a special event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, President Droupadi Murmu gave the respected Padma Awards to a group of great people. The event was to recognize their amazing work in different fields.
Among those who got awards, former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, the founder of Sulabh International Bindeshwar Pathak, and the famous Bharatanatyam dancer Padma Subrahmanyam were given the top Padma Vibhushan award. Pathak got the award after his death.
The list also included actor Mithun Chakraborty, singer Usha Uthup, former Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik, and business leader Sitaram Jindal, who all got the Padma Bhushan award.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, and other important people were present at the ceremony.
The Padma Awards are one of the highest honors a civilian can get in the country. They recognize excellent work and contributions to society in areas like arts, writing, science, and public service.
The event was a celebration of greatness, honoring the amazing people whose efforts have made the nation proud and inspired many others.
