The first stars are finally punching in to join Michael Koman and Greg Daniels’ new The Office. Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore has been roped in for the universe of beloved Emmy winning workplace comedy series as part of a larger ensemble cast similar to the original. However, the details about their respective roles are kept under wraps as the show remains in active development with Universal Television.
The series, which was originally introduced as a potential reboot for the 2005 comedy, will likely leave Dunder Mifflin behind, as Daniels has been emphatic that it won’t follow up with the original characters under Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell. The project has been in development for quite some time and finally it has caught some movement starting to thaw this spring with the addition of Koman to the team to co-develop a pilot and be credited as co- creator.
In addition to Gleeson and Impacciatore, more casting announcements can be expected, now that the show is catching speed. The latter bring a fresh new comedy angle to the series with her last role being the hotel management in season 2 of HBO’s hit series The White Lotus.
Meanwhile, Gleeson will be soon seen opposite Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore in Echo Valley.
