Hardik Pandya is an all-rounder who can bowl fast and hit big sixes from the first ball. He plays domestic cricket for Baroda team.
Hardik started his India career in 2016. He impressed with his bowling in Bangladesh. India saw him as a genuine all-rounder who could bat, bowl and field well.
However, a back injury in 2018 affected Hardik’s bowling at times. In 2019, he was suspended for making rude comments on a TV show.
But in the 2020s, Hardik became a senior player and good captain. In 2022 and 2023 IPL, he led new team Gujarat Titans very well as captain, taking them to the final both years.
After his all-round performances, Hardik is now seen as a future India captain too due to his leadership skills.

– Hardik played his first 7 IPL seasons for Mumbai Indians. He became one of the best all-rounders in the world and helped Mumbai win titles in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. But later injuries affected his bowling, so Mumbai released him after 2021.
– For IPL 2022, new team Gujarat Titans signed Hardik. They also made him captain even though he had never captained before. In his first season as captain, Hardik led Gujarat to the IPL title.
– In IPL 2023 also, Hardik captained Gujarat Titans to the final again.
– After 2 good years with Gujarat, Hardik was traded back to Mumbai Indians for IPL 2024. He has now replaced Rohit Sharma as Mumbai’s new captain.
– Hardik’s best season as an all-rounder was IPL 2019, when he scored 402 runs and took 14 wickets to help Mumbai win. In 2022, he scored most runs (487) for Gujarat in their title win.
