Margaret Qualley has pulled out of playing Amanda Knox in Hulu’s upcoming limited series due to scheduling reasons.
The untitled project, which is penned by KJ Steinberg, and from 20th Television in association with the Littlefield Company, was officially greenlighted last month with Qualley on board to star and executive produce. The role will now be recast. However, this won’t be affecting the production of the eight episode project as it was scheduled to go on floors in October.
Margaret, who was recently seen in Oscar winning movie Poor Things, is a two time Emmy nominee for Fox’s Fosse/Verdon and Netflix’s Maid and also saw her two upcoming movies Kinds of Kindness and The Substance being selected for Cannes Film Festival. The actress is currently busy shooting for Honey Don’t! and also has other interesting projects in her kitty.
The limited series on Hulu focuses on the 16- year journey of Amanda Knox to set herself free after she was wrongfully convicted of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher.
Steinberg executive producer with Warren Littlefield, Ann Johnson, Graham Littlefield, & Ann Johnson of the Littlefield Company, alongside Monica Lewinsky, Knox and Chris Robinson of Knox Robinson Productions.
