Aakash Educational Services Ltd. (AESL), a group subsidiary of the edtech company Byju, announced the hiring of Deepak Mehrotra as managing director and CEO.
There had been a seven-month void in the CEO role at Aakash following Abhishek Maheshwari’s resignation in September 2023, when Mehrotra took over.
As announced by the business on Monday, Mehrotra took up the position as soon as he arrived at the workplace. Byju Raveendran, the company’s founder and chairman, welcomed Mehrotra with pleasure and emphasised his contribution to AESL’s ambitious expansion goals and maintaining the company’s pace.
After holding senior positions at Ashirvad Pipes, Pearson India, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, and Coca-Cola, Mehrotra has over 35 years of executive experience in the FMCG, telecom, and education sectors.
Mehrotra is an electrical engineering graduate of IIT Roorkee who also finished an executive programme at The Wharton School in Philadelphia, USA. He acknowledged that it was an honour for him to join AESL and reaffirmed his dedication to providing high-quality instruction and enabling students to reach their full potential.
