Stocks of BHEL surged nearly 3% in the opening trading session of March 28, Thursday, after the company received ₹4,000 crore order from Adani Power to set up a plant in Chhattisgarh.
The state-owned engineering firm, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), announced that it had received an order worth ₹4,000 crore from Adani Power Limited for establishing the 1,600 MW Raigarh Phase-II Thermal Power Plant in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.
In a filing, BHEL stated that it received a Letter of Award on March 27, 2024, for the supply of equipment and supervision of erection & commissioning for a 2×800 MW power project based on supercritical technology at Raigarh Phase II, Chhattisgarh.
The boiler and Turbine Generator are to be manufactured at BHEL’s Trichy and Haridwar plants, respectively. The supply of Unit-1 is expected to take 31 months, and Unit-2 is estimated to take 35 months.
