India and china will be holding another round of talks today regarding the tensions caused by repeated Chinese attempts to intrude in the Indian territory.

According to the Indian foreign ministry, Chinese troops are making repeated attempts to intrude along the southern bank of Pangong Tso , the area is undisputed and under India’s control, but China tring to intrude in this area opens a new front I the standoff.

The situation on the southern border of Pangong Tso lake has become quite tense and indian troops have moved in the area on August 30. Troops of the Indian and Chinese troops are now separated by 300-500 metres on both sides of the LOC.

Sun Weidong, who is the Chinese ambassador to India has indicated that New Delhi should accept the current status quo and resume normal ties with Beijing. The current situation involves Beijing’s claims along the north bank of the Pangong Tso as well as at Patrolling Point 17A.

Ties between India and China started t fray in May when there were a multiple intrusions by Chinese troops in Indian territory and the situation worsened in June, when the troops on both the side clashed violently, killing 20 soldiers on the Indian side the number of casualties faced by the Chinese troops was however unknown.

Now, officials in New Delhi has ruled out te possibility of a meeting between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and hi Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe on the margins of the SCO( Sanghai Cooperation Organisation) in Moscow.
