FC Barcelona legend Dani Alves has been sentenced to four and half years in prison for sexual assault by the Provincial Court of Barcelona.
The Brazilian will be forced to compensate the victim with a payment of $163,000 and has also been slapped with a nine and a half year of restraining order. Upon release, the former athlete will also be required to complete five years’ worth of probation.
As per the reports by SPORT, the court ruled that the sexual intercourse, that took place in a bathroom of Sutton nightclub’s VIP section during the early hours of 31st December 2022, was not with the consent of the victim and there is evidence to prove the rape.
