Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president said that it has to be seen if CSK will be ready for the first match after multiple squad members test positive. This is the first reaction the BCCI president has given since the news of players and staff testing positive came out.
Since the teams have reached the emirates, things have been pretty relaxed and there was nothing to worry about. Friday was when CSK management confirmed that pacer Deepak Chahar and other support staff members tested positive for COVID-19. A day later another player tested positive which put the CSK camp into another week of quarantine. The positive tested members are taken out of the bio-bubble and will be tested after 14 days.
the rest of the group will be allowed to train after a week of quarantine and returning negative tests. the CSK management has said that they are hopeful that they can start on the given schedule, playing the first match on 19th September. they also mentioned that they did not request for any schedule changes considering there are no more members testing positive.
CSK batsman Suresh Raina pulled out of the league due to concerns about squadmates testing positive and the welfare of his kids.
