Only Murders In The Building will be returning for fourth season and has confirmed the reprisal of Meryl Streep.
As per the reports by Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, Meryl Streep will be returning as Loretta Durkin, a character which was introduced in season 3, in the upcoming season, which is yet to secure a release date. The news were first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Karey Burke, 20th Television president, revealed during the outlet’s TV Top FIve podcast that “Meryl is returning for next season because she had a tremendous time.”
Meryl’s character is the love interest of Oliver Putnam, played by Martin Short, and was consistently regarded as a suspect in the murder of Ben Glenroy, played by Paul Rudd, in the previous season. It was ultimately revealed in the finale that she is innocent of the crime. Post a stellar performance in her debut project in Oliver’s musical, Loretta ends up fielding acting job offers and announces that she will be leaving for Los Angeles.
While Oliver says that he cannot move to the golden state with her, he promises her to visit her.
