Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, who arrived on August 20 and are currently based in Abu Dhabi, have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period ad this could impact their preparations for the tournament.
Matthew Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket, confirmed to this daily that all test results of both the teams returned negative paving way for them to begin training. There were speculations that quarantine rule in Abu Dhabi had put the two teams in a spot of bother but the official said there were no surprises and everybody including the BCCI was aware of the protocols.
These teams were prepared to undergo a six-day quarantine period. However, with Abu Dhabi recording a new spike in coronavirus cases, the quarantine period in the city has been extended to 14 days. However, Mumbai Indians uploaded a tweet on their official Twitter handle that saw the side indulging in some fitness drills and light practice.
