Tuesday marked the end of the IPL 2024 Auction at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. 10 new players were recruited to the Kolkata Knight Riders roster, including Mitchell Starc, an Australian left-arm bowler who cost an IPL record Rs. 24.75 crore.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman, an Afghan spinner, was the second-most expensive selection of the auction, going for Rs. 2 crore for the Kolkata Knight Riders. With the exception of captain Shreyas Iyer’s injury-forced absence, KKR’s top seven is probably going to stay the same as last season. However, with the acquisition of Starc, Mujeeb, and Chetan Sakariya, their bowling attack will look new.
With the arrival of batter-wicketkeeper KS Bharat, KKR will have some team-building options.
KKR probable playing XI: Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Mitchell Starc, Varun Chakravarthy, Vaibhav Arora, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk).
A total of Rs. 50 lakh was paid for KS Bharat, Rs. 50 lakh for Chetan Sakariya, Rs. 24.75 crore for Mitchell Starc, Rs. 20 lakh for Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rs. 20 lakh for Ramandeep Singh, Rs. 1.5 crore for Sherfane Rutherford, Rs. 50 lakh for Manish Pandey, Rs. 2 crore for Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rs. 1 crore for Gus Atkinson, and Rs. 20 lakh for Sakib Hussain.
