The captain of India, Rohit Sharma, finally spoke up about his disappointment with the World Cup 2023 Final, stating that it had been really difficult for him to move on. Ahead of his competitive comeback in the forthcoming Test series in South Africa, Rohit thanked his family and supporters in a speech to the Mumbai Indians for helping him move past the devastating loss and get back to work.
After the big World Cup final night in Ahmedabad, Rohit claimed he felt powerless. On November 19, Rohit found it difficult to control his emotions following India’s lopsided loss to Australia in the final.
One step separated Rohit Sharma from becoming the third captain of India to win the World Cup in 50 overs. Rohit led by example throughout the competition with a revitalized mindset, walking the talk as India had a strong run to the final.
India entered an ICC event final as favorites against Australia, a formidable team, for the first time in a long time. Still, Australia emerged victorious in a one-sided final at the Narendra Modi Stadium thanks to a meek batting display (except for Rohit).
In the video, he stated, “I had no idea how to come back from this. I had no clue what to do. My family and friends kept me going, and kept things pretty light around me, which was quite helpful. It was not easy to digest, but life moves on and you have to move on. Honestly, it was tough, and it was not so easy to move on. I have always grown up watching the 50-over World Cup. To me that was the ultimate prize. We have worked all these years for that World Cup. And It’s disappointing if you don’t get through it, you don’t get what you want. You get disappointed. You get frustrated as well. I thought we did everything we could from our side. If someone asked what went wrong with our side? We won 10 games and in those 10 games, we made mistakes. But those happen in every game we play. You can’t have a perfect game; you can have a near-perfect game.”

In addition, he gave his thoughts on the team’s nearly flawless performance throughout the 2023 World Cup. India prevailed in ten games, including their infamous matchup with New Zealand in the semi-final. India was almost unbeatable during the competition with their excellent fielding, batting, and bowling.
But on the big day, Australia won with their sixth ODI World Cup championship, thanks to better cricket.
To recuperate from the World Cup final loss, the India skipper explained his decision to skip the white-ball portion of the tour to South Africa and the T20I series against Australia at home. He said he sincerely wanted to take a vacation.
