Rinku Singh is gearing up for the upcoming T20 International series against South Africa, but he’s quick to point out the challenges that lie ahead. Singh, who showcased his abilities during the recent Australia series, has been tasked with a crucial role in the middle order.
The talented batter revealed that the coaching staff has specifically instructed him to focus on batting at number five, acknowledging that playing in this position presents a significant challenge. Singh expressed, “Coach ne mujhe kaha hai ki tumhare number pe dhyaan rakhna, tumhe 5 number pe khelna hai aur vahan khelna bhot bada challenge hota hai” (Translation: The coach has told me to pay attention to my position, I have to play at number 5, and playing there is a big challenge).
One of the key hurdles Singh highlighted is the unique challenge posed by batting in the middle order. Batting at number five requires adaptability and composure, especially when the team is either setting a target or chasing one down.
