Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is preparing to announce the appointment of Manoranjan Mishra as its new Executive Director. Currently serving as the Chief General Manager of the Department of Regulation, Mishra’s elevation is part of a larger reshuffle within the central bank.
Mishra’s appointment comes as several existing Executive Directors are due for superannuation. The transition to his new role could take place as early as the start of the next fiscal year.
The RBI’s reshuffle also includes the promotion of two other officials, Neeraj Nigam and P. Vasudevan. Nigam, presently the Regional Director for the Bhopal office, and Vasudevan, the Chief General Manager of the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems, are also slated for elevation.
As Executive Directors, these officials will be instrumental in shaping policy decisions across various departments within the RBI. They will also serve as invitees to the RBI central board, providing insights and addressing queries related to their respective domains.
