Nisha Bangre, a former IAS officer who submitted her resignation in June, is all set to contest the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections 2023. Bangre told ANI: “I will contest the election. I want to be a part of democracy – becoming an MLA is a part of it. I will definitely file my nomination.”

Further, she said: “I always want a good system to be maintained in this country and the system is made by the officials and our public representatives. That’s why I have decided that I will go to the legislature, and we will fight against others what happened to me so that this kind of thing does not happen to anyone else.”

Bangre recalling the promise made to her by Kamal Nath (President of MP Congress) said: “When my struggle was going on, Congress spoke about standing with me. When I was arrested, Congress leaders were with me. They had assured me that they would wait for my resignation. So, I would like to meet Kamal Nath today and ask him about his stand as now I have resigned, and now I am independent to fight for the people. I will continue my fight and want to know further about the promise made.”

Answering her stand if Congress denied her ticket for the assembly elections, she said: “We work for the public. If the public says that we should bring independent people or people from this party, then I have no problem. Whatever the public orders, I will follow it.”
