The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) on October 19 announced the best tourism villages (A global initiative to promote the role of tourism in rural development) among which stands the Gujarat’s Dhordo village located in the Great Rann of Kutch.

Celebrating the honour, PM Modi took X to share his joy, reminiscing his visits to the village in 2009 and 2015. “This accolade reflects the village’s exemplary contribution to sustainable and responsible tourism,” wrote the Ministry of Tourism, thrilled at the tag received.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal invites people to experience the annual cultural extravaganza of the Rann Utsav (annual 3-month festival) at the tent city, scheduled to begin on November 10.

Dhordo is a small village situated within Bhuj taluk on the edge of the India-Pakistan border in Kutch district, Gujrat.
