Canara Bank surged 2% after bank appointed Bhavendra Kumar as executive director with effect from October 9.
Canara Bank has appointed Bhavendra Kumar as its Executive Director, according to a notification from the Department of Financial Services. Bhavendra Kumar, who began his career with Canara Bank as a probationary officer in 1997, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
He has served in various capacities across different states and also worked at Canara Bank’s Shanghai Branch for three years. Having been promoted to Chief General Manager in 2022, he previously headed the Delhi Circle Office, managing a business portfolio exceeding ₹2.5 lakh crore, before his elevation to the position of Executive Director.
