Glenn Philips did the magic with the ball, yet again dismissing the well-settled Joe Root. With Root’s focus and ability to keep changing the strike, it seemed like he would celebrate his first ton of the tournament. However, the batter completely missed the yorker trying to reverse sweep it, which cost him his wicket. Root scored 77 runs with four boundaries and a maximum. This was the second wicket claimed by part-timer Philip.
After Root’s wicket, it will be exciting to see how Kiwi’s will restrict England from adding runs to the scorecard.
