The Indian women’s team, who were looking in good touch, were defeated by Hong Kong, China, by 1-2 to claim a bronze in Hangzhou on Friday.
India started off with a backlash as Tanvi Kumar lost her first round against Sin Yuk Chan. Joshna Chinappa then equaled the game after defeating Tze Lok Ho in the second round. However, India’s Anahat Singh’s efforts were crushed after she lost the decider round against Ka Yi Lee.
Counting this bronze, India now stands fourth in the medal rankings with a total of 31, which includes eight golds.
