The largest airline in the nation, IndiGo, is owned by InterGlobe Aviation, which on Wednesday announced a net profit of Rs 3,090.7 crore for the first quarter that concluded on June 30, 2023.
According to a regulatory statement from the firm, IndiGo reported a net loss of Rs 1,064.3 crore for the same period in the previous year. During the period under review, total income was Rs 16,683 crore, up 29.8% from Rs 12,855.2 crore in the similar period of the previous fiscal year.
EBITDA at the operating level was Rs 5,210.9 crore, up from Rs 716.9 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In the reporting quarter, the EBITDA margin was 31.2 percent, whereas in the same time of the previous fiscal year, it was 5.6 percent. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization is known as EBITDA.
With Rs 15,691.1 crore in free cash and Rs 11709 crore in restricted cash, the airline had a total cash balance of Rs 27,400 crore. Rs 43,086.2 crore was the capitalised operating lease liability. The capitalised operational lease liability was included in the total debt, which came to Rs 46,291.9 crore.
The market hours ended, and the results were announced after that. On the BSE, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd.’s shares closed at Rs 2,565.75, down Rs 4.70, or 0.18 percent.
