The Supreme Court-appointed administrator, Justice L Nageswara Rao, has taken decisive action in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) by banning over 50 clubs, including influential figures like former cricketers and powerful families, due to conflict of interest and nepotism.

The purge order follows a meticulous forensic audit of the voting list and aims to address past manipulations of election outcomes.

The ban prevents the affected clubs from participating in the upcoming HCA election. The administrator will appoint an electoral officer to ensure transparency in the election process.

The ruling also disallows individuals and their immediate family members from controlling multiple clubs within the association. The move has been widely welcomed as a positive step toward a fair and accountable cricketing environment in HCA.
