Karan Johar wrote a beautiful birthday wish for actor Ranveer Singh on Thursday.
Karan took to Instagram to post a series of previously unseen photos from the sets of ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ captioning them, “It’s ROCKY day!!!! Happiest birthday to this magnanimous force of nature…thank you for giving all your heart to our kahaani…Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Lots of love to you always.”
Karan and Ranveer can be seen posing on the film sets in the photos. He also posted some candid photos of himself with the star.
Fans filled the comment section with red hearts and fire emoticons shortly after the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ filmmaker published the post.
“Happiest birthday wishes @ranveersingh. Your energy is infectious.. all the best for ur new film,” a user wrote. A fan wrote, “love your on set Looks.”
On Tuesday, the makers of ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ released the film’s official trailer, which drew a massive response from the audience.
The film, directed by KJo and starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, will be released in theatres on July 28.
The trailer introduces us to Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee, two people with drastically opposing lifestyles. While Rocky hails from an affluent Punjabi family, Rani comes from a Bengali family where knowledge and intelligence are valued above all else. And they fall in love, but the couple soon discovers that their families dislike one other. Rocky and Rani then plan to’switch’ and live with each other’s families in order to impress them.
Rocky & Rani Kii Prem Kahaani looks to be a family-friendly big-screen entertainment, combining Johar’s storytelling prowess with an excellent ensemble cast, grandeur, and music. There were also several scenes of the two romancing and fighting, as well as celebrating various festivals with their families and potentially getting married.
The film marks Karan’s return to the director’s chair after over six years.
