Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver, showcased his impressive pace during the first practice session at the Austrian Grand Prix. Leading the way at the Red Bull Ring, Verstappen outperformed the Ferrari duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in a busy hour of running.

The return of the Sprint format, previously seen in Azerbaijan, adds an extra layer of excitement to the race weekend, with more points and prizes up for grabs. As per the revised 2023 schedule, drivers and teams have a single practice session to fine-tune their cars before the qualifying session on Friday.

Saturday is dedicated to the Sprint Shootout and Sprint race, followed by the main event, the Grand Prix, on Sunday.

With the threat of rain looming, Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, and Lewis Hamilton, the top three finishers at the Canadian Grand Prix, wasted no time getting to work in warm and dry conditions.
