Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has congratulated filmmaker and close friend Karan Johar on his 25th year in the business. Shah Rukh wrote a touching letter to Karan and appreciated his Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani teaser, which was released by the makers on Tuesday, June 20.
“Wow Karan 25 years as a filmmaker. You’ve come a long way baby!! Your father and my friend Tom uncle must be seeing this from heaven and feeling extremely happy and proud. Have always told you to make more and more films because we need the ethereal magic of love being brought to life… like only u can do,” Shah Rukh wrote on Twitter.
Praising the teaser, Shah Rukh added, “#RockyAurRaniKiiPrem Kahaani teaser is looking beautiful. Love you and best wishes to the cast and crew.”

The film, directed by Karan Johar and starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, will be released in theatres on July 28. With this picture, Karan returns to directing after a six-year hiatus. The release of the film will also mark the filmmaker’s 25th year in Bollywood. After Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, My Name Is Khan, Student Of The Year, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Rocky Aur Rani is Karan’s eighth directorial.
Shah Rukh has always supported Karan and vice versa. In reality, Shah Rukh appeared in Karan’s latest film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, as a cameo.
In addition to Ranveer and Alia, legendary actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi appear in the film. Previously on Karan’s 51st birthday, the makers unveiled several posters of the film which increased the fans’ excitement.
On his birthday last year, Karan declared that his next directorial project will be an action film, with production set to begin in April 2023, but no further details have been released.
Meanwhile, the film’s teaser offers a glimpse into Rocky and Rani’s vast universe, exhibiting breathtaking sights, introducing stunning star-cast, and a heartfelt soundtrack. It has the feel of a major Karan Johar musical love story and will prepare the audience for a larger-than-life family environment.
