In a surprising move during the ongoing Ashes opener, Ben Stokes displayed some mind games against Steve Smith.
Despite having a lineup of top bowlers at his disposal, Stokes opted to give the ball to Harry Brook, who has limited experience in Test bowling and had only taken one wicket against New Zealand.
The morning’s first change could have seen the likes of Moeen Ali or Stokes himself, but Brook was chosen instead. With the presence of pacers like Anderson, Robinson, and Broad, the decision raised eyebrows.
Stokes’ unconventional choice kept the opposition guessing and added an element of unpredictability to the game.
