During the time of AR Rahman’s concert in Pune, something unexpected happened.
As the music legend was performing live in Pune and belting out standards like Chaiyya Chaiyya, the police showed up at the location, entered the theatre, and asked that the event be stopped. A video of the police interrupting the concert in the middle has gone viral on social media.
Extremely disappointing of #PunePolice to shut down #ARRahman ‘s concert in #Pune at 10.14PM. While the rule of 10pm cutoff is understood, this is nt how a visiting artist of his stature should hav been treated. He was almost on his finale song when this happened👇🏻cc @CPPuneCity pic.twitter.com/HYEor4wiYX

The legendary musician was reportedly prevented from performing during his concert because he went on stage after the scheduled time of 10 p.m., according to news agency ANI, which cited Smartana Patil, DCP Zone 2, Pune Police.
Rahman didn’t realise it had gone past 10:00 p.m. while he was singing his last song. After being informed of the deadline that had to be met in accordance with SC regulations by a police officer present at the event, Rahman ceased his performance.
AR Rahman, while expressing his gratitude to the audience on Twitter. For all the love and happiness last night, he thanked Pune. For him, the concert was like a roller coaster.
Pune! Thank you for all the love and euphoria last night! Was such a roller coaster concert! No wonder Pune is home to so much classical music!
We shall be back soon to sing with you all again!#2BHKDinerKeyClub @heramb_shelke @btosproductions EPI pic.twitter.com/UkBn09FwLj

The fact that Pune is the home of so much classical music was also mentioned by him. He will soon return to sing with everyone once more.
Rahman made headlines recently after defending his wife after actress Kasturi Shankar made fun of her for being unable to speak Tamil. Shankar posted a message on Twitter poking his wife, to which AR Rahman retweeted politely “Kadhalukku mariyadhai.” This means he respects his wife and her differences.
