Punjab Kings have won the toss and elected to field first in their match against Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. This is the first time in the season that Punjab Kings have won the toss and opted to field. Captain Sam Curran mentioned that they wanted a change up and they also have two Indian batters coming in with the absence of Shikhar Dhawan due to injury. He expressed hope that Dhawan won’t be out for long and mentioned that his absence is a huge loss for the team. He also mentioned that Raza is back in the playing XI and the conditions look good.

Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul mentioned – First game on this strip, anything would have worked. It is exciting to challenge ourselves on different conditions. It is our first season here, so each game we’ll assess and modify. Every game we make a few changes, settle on a 12-13 and take a call depending on the game. Each game we have turned up and we have been challenged every time, but players have found answers. Everyone is enjoying the game and there is a good vibe around, really happy with the support we have got out here.
