In a nail-biting match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the SRH partnership between captain Aiden Markram and Harry Brook came to an end after Markram departed. The partnership between the two had put up a commendable 72 runs off 47 deliveries before the captain was caught out.
It was KKR’s Chakaravarthy who took the wicket, with a pitched-up delivery that Markram couldn’t resist slogging. Despite hitting the ball with some elevation, Markram couldn’t get the distance he needed, and ended up being caught out by KKR’s Andre Russell, who took a fine catch. Markram’s innings came to an end at 50 runs, including 2 fours and 5 sixes.
Just a ball before he was caught out, Markram had hit a massive six to bring up his half-century. Chakaravarthy had gone quicker and bowled on middle, but Markram had cleared his legs out of the way and slogged the ball deep into the stands beyond deep mid-wicket.
