After creating incredible movies, Disney is now coming up with its next live-action, Lilo & Stitch. It will be directed by Dean Fleischer Champ and is all set to release on Disney+. The new actress Maia Kealoha has been casted for the role of Lilo.
It was in the news that the makers are still searching for someone to act as Lilo’s sister and finally it seems like the wait is over as Sydney Elizebeth Agudong is going to perform the sister’s role in the movie. The character Nani is Lilo’s older sister and also her guardian after the two lost their parents.
A well-known actor and comedian, Zach Galifianakis is reportedly joining the cast and will play Pleakley in the film. Chris Sanders reportedly voices Stitch in the adaptation as well. Chris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the live-action movie script.
Lilo & Stitch is an animated movie, which was initially released in 2002. Focusing on a comedy-drama theme, the story revolves around Lilo Pelekai, who lives with her older sister. Lilo is very much lonely and comes across the extraterrestrial creature Experiment 626, and is adopted by her.
She renames him Stitch and takes care of him like her own pet. Stitch was originally designed to cause destruction on Earth but he escapes from the alien planet and lands on Earth. Through Lilo’s company, he grows compassionate towards his surrounding beings and learns to care for others as well.
The movie was a super hit and also bagged an Oscar nomination. Due to its splendid success, the movie then came up with its second and third instalments in 2003 and 2005 respectively.
