As per recent reports by The Independent, Chelsea Football Club is considering former boss Antonio Conte for their vacant manager’s role. This comes after the departure of Graham Potter a few days ago due to a series of disappointing results.
Conte has already proven himself as a successful manager during his time at Chelsea. He led the team to Premier League glory in the 2016/2017 season, as well as the FA Cup in the following year. His tactical nous and strict discipline on the field were praised by fans and pundits alike, and he quickly became a favorite among Chelsea supporters.
Since leaving Chelsea in 2018, Conte has enjoyed success at Inter Milan, leading them to their first Serie A title in over a decade. However, reports suggest that he could be open to a return to Stamford Bridge.
If he were to return to Chelsea, Conte would inherit a talented squad with plenty of potential. Players such as Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante, and Christian Pulisic have all shown their quality in recent seasons, and Conte could potentially build a team around them that could challenge for major honors once again.
Of course, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will ultimately choose to pursue Conte for the job. Other high-profile managers, such as Thomas Tuchel and Max Allegri, have also been linked with the position. However, if Conte were to return to Stamford Bridge, it could be a move that excites Chelsea fans and puts the club back on the path to success.
